Investigation of the Effective Factors on Employee Engagement of Nurses in Farabi Eye Hospital affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences

Abstract

Work engagement is defined as a positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. Vigor is characterized by high levels of energy and mental resilience while working, the willingness to invest effort in one’s work, and persistence even in the face of difficulties; dedication by being strongly involved in one's work, and experiencing a sense of significance, enthusiasm, inspiration, pride, and challenge; and absorption by being fully concentrated and happily engrossed in one’s work, whereby time passes quickly and one has difficulties with detaching oneself from work In this regard, the present study aims to explain the Effective factors on job engagement of nurses of the Farabi Eye Hospital. In this descriptive - correlation, 103 nurses employed at Farabi Eye Hospital, were randomly selected. UWES questionnaire Shavfly and Becker (2003) by aboriginal of Esakhany and colleagues (1391) has been used to measure the work engagement. Also, SPSS 16 software was used for data analysis. In this study, the sample age range 22 years to 56 years and 7 months to 30 years are having career. The study shows that all three indicators are positively influencing the work engagement. In terms of ranking, personal resources have influenced more job resources and organizational resources. Hospitals, like all other organizations, if foster job and their share of the profits, they will be more successful.
