Presenting Convenient Pattern of TV News Management from the Specialists' Point of View (Case Study: The Islamic Republic of Iranian TV)

Abstract

In the present article which is derived from the author's research in 1388, in connection with IRI TV News, the main point is presenting desirable pattern of TV News management. This research has been done by making benefit from the views of 14 specialists and by using Delphi method and is following to answer three main questions: what is the position of TV News from the specialists' view? What is the desirable executive pattern in TV news management? What variables have desirable influence on news management?
The outcome of this research, which derived from three levels of Delphi method, shows that the TV news position is suitable from geographical coverage aspect; but is placed in average status from social weight aspect. Counting seven effective variables of news management is the other outcome of this research and in case of TV news management's consideration; a suitable pattern will be achieved. As an example we can name attention to people's news needs, management roles and rapidity in broadcasting.
The most important outcome of this research is achieving an executive pattern which named Three Steps pattern and is derived from collective agreement of research specialists. Three Steps, including "Determination", "Production" and "Distribution" are different stages of news management; and in case of being performed by unique mechanism, the lower levels will be accompanied with minor changes and the difference between production and distribution will be decreased and, more importantly, avoid news depot.
