Objective: This research has been conducted so as to use the Porter Five Competitive Model and to obtain the votes of experts in the press industry. A pathological assessment of the industry in the country has been achieved and a desirable model has been developed for transforming the industry to face environmental change.
Methods: In this research, the qualitative method has been applied to respond to research propositions. In the Pathology section for the press industry, Delphi's methodology was used to collect the views of the experts. And Grounded Theory was used to develop different aspects of the governmental press environment. The statistical population of this research includes all experts in media and press industry.
Results: The findings, based on reviewing the experts' opinions in order to achieve a model of industry transformation propose two types of factors: 1) environmental factors including economic, political and legal-legislative factors; and 2) factors within the press industry including the audience, the human resources system and alternative competitors.
Conclusion: In order to achieve a model of industry transformation are one of the factors: 1) environmental factors including economic, political and legal-legal factors; 2) factors of the press industry including the audience, the human resources system and alternative competitors.
